Intimate Conversations
An Evening with Pete Wharmby
Thursday 26th November 2026
7pm arrival for wine and canapés. The conversation will start at 7.30pm.
We’re delighted to welcome bestselling author and leading voice in neurodiversity Pete Wharmby to The Green on Thursday 26th November 2026, for the first evening in our special new Intimate Conversations series.
A former English teacher who received his autism diagnosis in 2017, Pete has become an influential advocate for greater understanding and acceptance of autistic people internationally. His bestselling books, including Untypical, Different Minds and What I Want to Talk About, explore autistic life, the importance of special interests and how we can create a more inclusive world. Drawing on his own experiences, Pete brings a personal perspective to a conversation that matters to families, educators, employers and communities alike.
Hosted by Ben Veal of the Good Journeys podcast, the evening will explore Pete’s life, writing and experiences through a relaxed conversation, with time for questions from the audience.
With just 40 places available, Intimate Conversations offers a rare chance to hear a guest’s story up close, ask the questions that matter to you and meet the person behind the books. It’s an opportunity to listen, share perspectives and leave with something new to think about. Enhance the experience with a stay in one of The Green’s luxurious guest rooms: check for availability.
Guests will be welcomed with a drink and canapés at 7pm before settling into the warm surroundings of our 17th-century country house near Bradford on Avon. Whether you’re familiar with Pete’s work or simply curious to learn more, we’d love you to join us.
